Ingredients
6 ripe saba bananas, peeled and halved lengthwise
1 cup ripe jackfruit (langka), sliced
12 lumpia wrappers
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups cooking oil, for frying
Directions
- Place a lumpia wrapper on a clean surface. Roll each saba banana in brown sugar, then place it on the wrapper with a few slices of ripe jackfruit.
- Fold the sides of the wrapper inward and roll tightly to seal. Lightly moisten the edge of the wrapper with water to keep it closed.
- Heat the cooking oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Carefully place the wrapped turon into the hot oil.
- Fry for 3–5 minutes on each side, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. The brown sugar will caramelize, creating a sweet, crunchy coating.
- Remove the turon from the oil and drain on paper towels or a wire rack to remove excess oil.
- Transfer to a serving plate and serve warm. Enjoy your crispy and delicious Turon!
