Ingredients

500g shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tbsp unsalted butter

6 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil or cooking oil

1 tbsp lemon juice

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)

1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Lemon wedges, for serving

Directions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt, ground black pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and are fully cooked.
  4. Stir in the remaining butter and lemon juice, tossing the shrimp until evenly coated in the garlic butter sauce.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.
  6. Transfer to a serving plate and serve immediately with lemon wedges, steamed rice, pasta, or toasted bread.
