Fried Rice
Fried Rice is a quick and flavorful rice dish made with cooked rice stir-fried with eggs, vegetables, garlic, and savory seasonings. This versatile recipe is perfect for using leftover rice and can be customized with chicken, ham, shrimp, or other favorite ingredients. Ingredients
4 cups cooked and chilled white rice
3 large eggs
1 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, and corn)
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp cooking oil
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
2 spring onions, chopped
100g cooked chicken, ham, or shrimp (optional)
Directions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Beat the eggs and pour them into the pan. Scramble until cooked, then remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining cooking oil to the same pan. Sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant and lightly softened.
- Add the mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until tender.
- Add the chilled cooked rice. Break up any clumps and stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until the rice is heated through.
- Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Toss well to evenly coat the rice.
- Return the scrambled eggs to the pan. Add the cooked chicken, ham, or shrimp if using, and stir-fry for another 2–3 minutes.
- Season with ground black pepper and adjust the seasoning to taste.
- Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious Fried Rice!
