Ingredients

8 slices thick bread or brioche

1 cup fresh milk

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

2 tbsp butter, for cooking

Maple syrup, for serving

Fresh fruits, for serving (optional)

Powdered sugar, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, fresh milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat and melt a small amount of butter.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly. Avoid soaking the bread for too long so it does not become overly soft.
  4. Place the coated bread slices onto the hot pan and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and lightly crisp.
  5. Repeat with the remaining bread slices, adding more butter to the pan as needed.
  6. Transfer the French toast to a serving plate. Top with butter, maple syrup, fresh fruits, or powdered sugar if desired.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy your delicious French Toast!
