Ingredients
8 slices thick bread or brioche
4 large eggs
1 cup fresh milk
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp butter, for cooking
Maple syrup, for serving
Fresh fruits, for serving (optional)
Powdered sugar, for garnish (optional)
Directions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, fresh milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat and melt a small amount of butter.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly. Avoid soaking the bread for too long so it does not become overly soft.
- Place the coated bread slices onto the hot pan and cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and lightly crisp.
- Repeat with the remaining bread slices, adding more butter to the pan as needed.
- Transfer the French toast to a serving plate. Top with butter, maple syrup, fresh fruits, or powdered sugar if desired.
- Serve warm and enjoy your delicious French Toast!
