Egg Fried Rice
Egg Fried Rice is a simple and flavorful rice dish made with fluffy scrambled eggs, cooked rice, garlic, spring onions, and savory seasonings. Ingredients
4 cups cooked and chilled white rice
4 large eggs
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
3 spring onions, chopped
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp cooking oil
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
Directions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Beat the eggs and pour them into the pan. Scramble until just cooked, then remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining cooking oil to the same pan. Sauté the garlic and onion for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and lightly softened.
- Add the chilled cooked rice and stir-fry for 3–5 minutes, breaking apart any clumps until the rice is heated through.
- Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce. Toss well to evenly coat the rice.
- Return the scrambled eggs to the pan and mix thoroughly with the rice.
- Season with salt and ground black pepper. Add sesame oil if desired and stir-fry for another 1–2 minutes.
- Add the chopped spring onions and toss briefly.
