Chicken Fajitas
Chicken Fajitas are a flavorful and colorful Mexican-inspired dish made with tender strips of seasoned chicken, sautéed bell peppers, and onions. Cooked until lightly charred and aromatic, the chicken and vegetables are wrapped in warm flour tortillas and served with fresh toppings such as lime, salsa, or sour cream. Quick and easy to prepare, Chicken Fajitas are perfect for lunch, dinner, or a fun family meal.
Ingredients
500g chicken breast, boneless and skinless, sliced into strips
8 flour tortillas
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tbsp lime juice
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (optional)
1/2 cup sour cream, for serving
1/2 cup salsa, for serving
1 lime, cut into wedges
Directions
- In a bowl, combine the chicken strips with chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, ground black pepper, and lime juice. Toss well to coat and let marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and fully cooked. Remove the chicken and set aside.
- Add the remaining cooking oil to the same skillet. Sauté the garlic, bell peppers, and onion for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp and slightly charred.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss with the vegetables. Cook for another 1–2 minutes until everything is heated through.
- Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds.
- Spoon the chicken and vegetable mixture onto each tortilla. Top with grated cheddar cheese, sour cream, and salsa if desired.
- Fold the tortillas and serve with fresh lime wedges on the side. Enjoy your flavorful Chicken Fajitas!
