Terms and Conditions for Metro Electronic Gift Certificate (EGC)

Introduction

Welcome to the Metro Store!

Our Metro EGCs are available for your purchase.

By purchasing and/or using a Metro EGC, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

Usage of the Metro EGC

  • The Metro EGC is valid for use in all Metro store locations, including the Department Store, Supermarket, Pharmacy, Food Avenue, and Suisse Cottage.
  • Customers can purchase Metro EGCs for multiple recipients in a single transaction.
  • Customers can choose to send the Metro EGC immediately or schedule delivery at a later date, up to three (3) months from the date of purchase.
  • Customers are required to have a valid and active email address and mobile number to purchase and manage Metro EGCs.
  • Recipients must have a valid and active email address to be able to receive the EGC.

Redemption

The total face value of the Metro EGC must be fully consumed in a single transaction at any Metro store location, whether for Department Store items, Supermarket items, Pharmacy items, Food Avenue, or Suisse Cottage items.

  • No partial EGC redemption is accepted.
  • No EGC redemption is allowed at multiple POS counters.
  • Any unconsumed EGC balance is no longer redeemable.
  • No cash change will be provided to the customer for any remaining EGC balance.

Transferable but Non-Refundable

  • The Metro EGC is transferable and can be shared with others.
  • It is non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Once purchased, it cannot be canceled.

Lost, Stolen, or Unauthorized Use

  • Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (“MRSGI”) and/or the Metro Stores shall not liable for lost, stolen, or unauthorized use of the Metro EGC.
  • It is the responsibility of the EGC holder to ensure the safekeeping of EGC details to prevent misuse.
  • MRSGI shall not be responsible or liable for Metro EGCs sent to an incorrect, invalid, or inactive email address or mobile number due to customer error. Once the Metro EGC has been successfully sent or delivered based on the details provided by the customer, it shall be deemed validly issued, and no replacement, refund, or reissuance shall be made.

Limitation of Liability

  • MRSGI and/or the Metro Stores shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, or unauthorized use of the EGC.
  • MRSGI is not responsible for any system downtime, technical issues, or disruptions that may affect the redemption process.

Amendments to the Terms and Conditions

  • MRSGI and/or the Metro Stores reserves the right to modify or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
  • Updated Terms and Conditions will be made available on the official ShopMetro website and in-store.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising from the use of the Metro EGC
shall be resolved in accordance with Philippine law.
