What is the Metro Electronic Gift Certificate (EGC)?

The Metro EGC is a digital gift certificate that can be used to purchase items from any Metro store, including the Department Store, Supermarket, Pharmacy, Food Avenue, and Suisse Cottage.

Where can I use the Metro EGC?

You can use the Metro EGC at all Metro store locations nationwide for eligible purchases.

Can I use the Metro EGC for multiple transactions?

No. The total face value of the EGC must be fully consumed in a single transaction. No partial redemption or multiple POS counter redemptions are allowed.

What happens if I don’t use the full value of the EGC?

Any unconsumed EGC balance is no longer redeemable. No cash change will be provided for any remaining balance.

Can I get cash back for the remaining balance on the EGC?

No. Cash change is not provided for any remaining EGC balance. The full value must be used in a single transaction.

What if I didn’t receive the Metro EGC email?

If you didn’t receive your EGC email, check your spam or junk folder. If it’s still not there, please reach out to our Customer Service for assistance. Please note that MRSGI shall not be responsible or liable for Metro EGCs sent to an incorrect, invalid, or inactive email address due to customer error.

Can I refund or cancel a purchased Metro EGC?

No. Metro EGCs are non-refundable, cannot be canceled after purchase, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Can the Metro EGC be transferred to someone else?

Yes. The Metro EGC is transferable and can be shared with or gifted to others. You may send it to a recipient’s email address during the purchase process.

What if my Metro EGC is lost or stolen?

Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (“MRSGI”) and/or the Metro Stores shall not be liable for lost, stolen, or unauthorized use of the Metro EGC. It is the responsibility of the EGC holder to ensure the safekeeping of EGC details to prevent misuse. Treat your EGC email and QR code like cash.

How do I use the Metro EGC in-store?

Simply present the QR code from the EGC email to the cashier at checkout. The value will be deducted from your total purchase amount.
