Mashed Potatoes
Mashed Potatoes are a classic and comforting side dish made with tender boiled potatoes, butter, and milk. Ingredients
1 kg potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
1/2 cup milk, warm
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly sized chunks.
- Place the potatoes in a large pot and cover them with cold water.
- Add a pinch of salt and bring the water to a boil.
- Cook the potatoes for 15–20 minutes, or until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork.
- Drain the potatoes thoroughly and return them to the pot.
- Add the butter and mash the potatoes until smooth.
- Gradually pour in the warm milk while continuing to mash until the desired creamy consistency is reached.
- Add salt and ground black pepper to taste.
- Stir in the minced garlic and Parmesan cheese if desired.
