Pancit Canton
Pancit Canton is a well-loved Filipino noodle dish made with stir-fried egg noodles, colorful vegetables, and a savory blend of seasonings. Combined with tender slices of pork or chicken, shrimp, and fresh vegetables, this flavorful dish is perfect for family meals, celebrations, and special occasions. Easy to prepare and packed with delicious flavors, Pancit Canton is best served hot with calamansi on the side for an extra burst of citrus.
Ingredients
500g pancit canton (egg noodles)
250g pork, thinly sliced
150g shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 cup cabbage, shredded
1 cup carrots, julienned
1/2 cup green beans, sliced diagonally
1 medium onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 cups chicken broth
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 calamansi, cut into halves (for serving)
Directions
- Heat the cooking oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Sauté the garlic and onions until fragrant.
- Add the sliced pork and cook until lightly browned. Stir in the shrimp and cook until they turn pink.
- Pour in the chicken broth, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
- Add the pancit canton noodles and cook until they absorb most of the liquid. Toss gently to separate the noodles.
- Add the cabbage, carrots, and green beans. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Season with ground black pepper and toss everything until evenly combined.
- Transfer to a serving platter and serve hot with calamansi on the side. Enjoy!
